His Chelsea team may be seven points clear at the top of the Premier League with only eight games remaining and a relatively favorable run in, but Antonio Conte still doesn't believe that his team are the best in the English top flight.

The Blues went a long way to cementing their second league title in three seasons with a vital 2-1 victory over Manchester City at Stamford Bridge, last night, thanks to a brace from Eden Hazard.

Sergio Aguero had levelled matters in the first half before Hazard netted the winner just before half time, converting the rebound from his own missed penalty.

Despite the victory meaning that Antonio Conte is the first ever manager to perform a league double over Pep Guardiola, the former Juventus and Italy boss still believes his opposite number last night possesses the strongest team in the Premier League.

Speaking to Match Of The Day, Conte said, "My look is tired because I feel like I played it tonight with my players, I suffered with them.

"But we must be pleased because we beat a strong team, the best team in the league. I think they have a great coach, the best in the world.

"To win this type of game at this time of the season is great.

"Now we need to rest and recover as we have another game in two days' time."

While Conte may believe Guardiola is the world's greatest manager, there's no denying that the Italian has adapted to English football much quicker and a lot more successfully than his Catalan counterpart.

Although how Conte will fair next season when his Chelsea squad have Champions League football to contend with, remains to be seen, as the former Juventus boss struggled to make an impression in the competition during his time in charge of the 'Bianconeri'.
