Or did it? According to Catalan outlet SPORT, the 33-year old midfielder has a gigantic offer on the table from Chinese Super League side Tianjin Quanjian, whose squad contains the likes of Anthony Modeste, Axel Witsel and Alexandre Pato.
They say that the proposal is being considered by the World Cup winner and if he does accept, he would be earning a staggering €35 million euros per season.
Iniesta would be raking in a reported £600,000-a-week if he does make the lucrative transfer and become the latest world-class player to move to China.
He's said to be contemplating the switch, with Barcelona allowing him to make his mind up about his future. It's understood he isn't interested in offers from the MLS or Arabic football; it's simply Barca or China.
The Barca No.8 remains a pivotal player for the La Liga leaders, having made 27 appearances in all competitions for Ernesto Valverde's side.
Since making his debut for Barca in 2002, Iniesta has made 657 appearances, scoring 56 goals, helping the Catalans to eight La Liga titles, five Copa Del Reys and four Champions Leagues.
