Burnley striker Andre Gray has been hit with a four match suspension after a FA hearing into misconduct charges.

Gray was under investigation after homophobic tweets that he sent in 2012 started going viral following his first Premier League goal in Burnley's surprise 2-0 win over Liverpool last month.

The ban starts immediately and means the English striker is out of the side's game at the weekend against Watford on Monday as well as matches against Arsenal, Southampton and Burnley in October.

He has also been fined £25,000, warned about his future conduct and told to attend a one-to-one educational course.
