A match between TFF Second League teams Amed SK and Sakaryaspor on Saturday descended into chaos before kick-off after one footballer attacked an opposition player with a sharp object.
According to reports, Mansur Çalar had a concealed 'razor blade' in his hands and used it in an attack on Ferhat Yazgan, walking up behind him and taking a quick swipe at him with the object.
In fact, the 33-year-old Turkish midfielder wasn't done there.
Çalar would once again set his sights on the 26-year-old Sakaryaspor player, but this time he went for his throat.
Check it out below.
Yazgan took to Instagram to share a photo of his injuries so that fans could see what had happened at the match.
"These football players who put [sic] the field, TFF, I hope you'll see them," he wrote for the caption.
Unsurprisingly, football fans have been shocked by what they've seen after screenshots and clips from the incident have surfaced on social media.
"What a psycho," one user wrote on Reddit.
Another said: "That nutter should get a lifetime ban."
A third wrote: "WTF, why hasn't this been more highlighted?"
A fourth added: "I don't think it's a razor blade, maybe some sort of screw or nail, a razor blade would have left far cleaner cuts. Either way, that f****r deserves a lifetime ban [...]."
According to Kurdistan 24, the local rivalry has also seen Amed SK's footballers and coach attacked by a 'mob of rival team's supporters' in the past, which took place during the match and also in the dressing room.
Amed SK have released videos of the chaos on their Twitter page, while Kurdistan 24 reports that there were no injuries from the incident in the locker room.
However, a media statement said
that coach Sertaç Küçükbayrak was reportedly kicked.
Amed SK chairman Nurullah Edemen has spoken out about the problems caused by Sakaryaspor and their fans, saying that it was an "ugly, disgusting and immoral nationalistic [attitude]."
