Sam Allardyce may no longer be England manager and also be facing a lengthy ban from English football, but he may have found somewhere to escape the controversy of his recent dismissal in the form of Major League Soccer.
The former Sunderland and West Ham boss has reportedly told friends that he would 'love to give it a crack over there' , with a colleague telling The Mirro that "If someone gave him an opportunity in the States he'd struggle to turn it down. And the way he feels right now I don't think he'd be too bothered about turning his back on England."

Allardyce has some experience of the American game, albeit over 30 years ago, when he turned out for the Tampa Bay Rowdies in 1983, an experience he would later describe as 'life changing'. The former England boss also speaks of his fondness for the American game in his autobiography, saying that an MLS job would be appealing and that his wife Lynne "might like it".

Following his dismissal after just 67 days in charge of the national team, Allardyce was given a £1m severance package by the FA, who are now set to receive the full transcript of The Telegraph's undercover interviews with him in order to make an informed decision as to a suitable punishment.
