Aleksandar Kolarov proved just why he's one of the best free-kick takers in world football with a trademark curling dead-ball strike to open the scoring against Costa Rica in the Group E opener.
The Roma left-back, captaining his country in the World Cup, whipped a perfect strike into the top corner ten minutes into the second half, giving Manchester City fans a trip down memory lane.
Real Madrid No.1 Keylor Navas had an absolutely no chance of keeping it out, such was the combination of power and placement from Kolarov's rocket of a left peg.

It was Kolarov's 11th international goal for his country and it's certainly up there with the best strikes has conjured up for the Eagles - even if the 32-year old has quite the free-kick collection.
He has become the third player to score a free-kick in the World Cup thus far, following on from Aleksandr Golovin and Cristiano Ronaldo's excellent efforts.
