Ajax draw first blood in the Champions League semi-final...

If you wanted a goal to sum up Ajax's philosophy and principles, look no further than their opener against Spurs in the Champions League semi-final first leg.

The Amsterdam outfit quickly settled into the game and it wasn't long before they were playing Spurs off the park on their own pitch - collecting a staggering 71% possession in the opening exchanges.

And in the 15th minute, they went 1-0 through midfielder Donny van de Beek, who finished off a glorious team move for Ajax's 161st goal of the season.

David Neres fed the ball into Lasse Schone, who transferred the play onto Hakim Ziyech and the Moroccan slipped in Van De Beek with a wonderful pass.

The 22-year old was ice cool on-on-one; faking a shot before slotting home past Hugo Lloris to give the Erik Ten Hag's side a deserved lead.

There was a suspicion of offside but VAR ruled that van de Beek was just level when consulted.

But back to the goal, the movement and build-up was just pure filth and had fans in complete awe:

That is what you call 'Total football', folks.
