After 3900 Games Marseille Create Unwanted History With Ridiculous Stat

Crazy stuff..

After 3900 games, Marseille have created a bit of history in Ligue One with an utterly ridiculous stat, but it's a record they won't want to be reminded of.

That's because the French side could not muster a single shot on target in the game against Paris Saint-Germain, something that has not happened for 3900 games since stat enthusiasts Opta came about.

The game itself was a pretty drab affair, both sides playing out a stalemate.

But while Marseille will be relatively pleased at gaining a point away to the Champions, the fact that a team of their stature were the ones to end the 3900 game run of every team having at least one shot on target since Opta starting doing stats, is a bit embarrassing.

It was Rudi Garcia's first game in charge of Marseille and while he would have been pleased with the defensive solidity, it's clear they need to offer a bit more going forward.

We're intrigued to know what the numbers are in regards to the Premier League...
