The Right-back had a game to forget against United's cross-city rivals on Saturday afternoon.

Manchester United fans voiced their frustration for a variety of reasons this afternoon, but one of the loudest groans from the Old Trafford faithful came when Aaron Wan-Bissaka seemingly bottled a 50-50 challenge.

With the Red Devils losing 2-0 at the time, many were hoping for a bit of fight in the second half of the game, to at least make the tie competitive heading into the closing stages.

Visitors Manchester City utterly dominated the first period, racing into an early lead thanks to an own goal by Eric Bailly, before Bernardo Silva added a second.

Pep Guardiola's side enjoyed over 75% possession in the first 15 minutes, emphasising their superiority despite being the away team.

It was therefore rubbing salt into the wounds of the United fans when Wan-Bissaka, who was already being terrorised by Phil Foden, decided to pull out of a 50-50 challenge with Joao Cancelo in the second half.

It was a thoroughly forgettable day overall for the former Crystal Palace defender, who was also mocked online for his inability to get high-quality crosses into the box.

Man City coasted to a comfortable 2-0 win, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side barely having a shot of note in the final 30 minutes.

Wan-Bissaka's lacklustre chasing back, as seen in the video below, pretty much encapsulates the futility of United's efforts this afternoon, with City levels above their rivals on this occasion.

While the scoreline wasn't especially embarrassing for United, the manner of the defeat will be a big worry for all involved with the club.

Their 3-0 victory over a poor Spurs side last weekend suddenly feels a very long time ago, especially for Solskjaer, who is back in the hot seat once again.
