With the year coming to a close, The International Federation of Football History andStatistics (IFFHS) have been reviewing the year on the whole through a series of awards.

The goalkeeper of the year and the referee of the year has been crowned in the last few days and now attentions have turned to managers.

IFFHS have done two different categories when it comes to managers; Fernando Santos, who guided Portugal to Euro 2016 success, deservedly picked up the national team manager of the year but it's the club coach of the year that has surprised everyone.

Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone has been announced as the manager of the year by the organisation, who had 56 'experts' all over the world vote in the awards.

Simeone did guide Atletico to the Champions League final, but it was Zinedine Zidane's Real Madrid who actually went on to win the coveted trophy, yet that hasn't stopped Cholo from pipping Zidane to the award by 113 points to 108.

Claudio Ranieri, who masterminded the unthinkable Premier League title success that Leicester City achieved, picked up the BBC SPOTY Coach of the Year but he finished in third place in these rankings.

Here is the list in full:

Do you agree with the choice of Simeone as club manager of the year?
