A Manchester United fan asking Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher for a picture might come as a surprise but all is not quite as it seems.

Sky Sports pundit Carragher was in the director's box in the Sir Bobby Charlton stand to see his former Liverpool teammates Philippe Coutinho and Luis Suarez taste victory in the Champions League quarter final first leg.

13-year old Molly Kay, who watches United home and away, was sat near him but didn't quite fancy asking him for a picture until her dad Stevie devised a plan to troll Carragher, who did not have a clue until he checked his social media.

"I said to Molly 'Go and have a photo with him'," Stevie Kay told the MEN.

"She had one with Tyson Fury first and then Eamonn Holmes. I said 'Go and have a photo with Carragher' and she said 'I'm not having a photo with him, he's a Scouser!'

"So I said 'write 20 times on your hand and go and have it with your hand showing'. I went to take the photo first and it didn't take so we had to go and ask him again.

"He didn't know anything about it until someone put it on Twitter and tagged him in it. He retweeted it and commented as well. He's taken it in good spirits to be fair to him!"

Carragher has indeed acknowledged that he's been done over on Twitter, replying with a mixture of emojis.

Fair play, Carra.
