Newcastle Transfer Target Set To 'Say Goodbye To Teammates' As Agent Negotiates January Move
| Last updated
One of Newcastle United's main transfer targets is 'set to say goodbye' to his teammates as his agent negotiates a January move.
The Magpies have been linked with a host of players since their mega Saudi-backed takeover.
In recent weeks, Odion Ighalo and Kieran Trippier have been mooted as potential new signings.
Not to mention Aaron Ramsey who has been strongly linked with a move to St. James' Park amid speculation regarding his future.
He's been deemed surplus to requirements at Juventus, with the 31-year-old set to say goodbye to his teammates ahead of a potential return to the Premier League.
That's according to Italian outlet La Gazetta dello Sport who claim his time in Turin is coming to an end.
They report that the midfielder is due back at training on Monday following the Christmas break.
But they say he will only be returning to say goodbye to his teammates and to the club staff.
Ramsey's representatives are in contact with several clubs ahead of completing his Juve exit.
Newcastle are thought to be one of the teams chasing his signature having kept an eye on his situation for some time.
Eddie Howe's team are readying an offer for the Welshman, but will be unable to match his current £400,000-a-week wage.
Juve, though, would be prepared to listen to a cut-price deal or a loan until the end of the season in order to offload the player.
Ramsey has only played three league games for Juve this term, having played 22 league games last season.
