Man United fans slam player for 'going missing' against Spurs

Manchester United fans beat Spurs at Old Trafford but were left unimpressed by one player's display.

Manchester United fans beat Spurs 2-0 at Old Trafford but many were still left unimpressed by the performance of Jadon Sancho.

Erik ten Hag's side went 1-0 up just after half-time through a deflected Fred effort, before Bruno Fernandes curled in a beautiful strike to seal the victory in the 69th minute.

It was a dominant display from United, who peppered Hugo Lloris' goal and forced him into making a number of great saves.

But while everything was largely positive from a United perspective, there were issues with how Sancho fared.

The former Borussia Dortmund man, a £73 million signing a year ago, started on the left flank in a front three.

He did get the slightly fortunate assist for Fred's opener but many were in agreement that Sancho was much anonymous on the pitch and it was easy to forget he was playing.

On social media, plenty of United supporters asked some serious questions about Sancho.

One fan wrote: "Have no idea what Jadon Sancho is tryin [sic] achieve out there tonight I forgot he was playing."

Another said: "Is Jadon Sancho with us on the pitch right now?"

A supporter added: "This is the best I've seen Man United play in a while and Jadon Sancho is somehow dropping a 2/10."

A fifth weighed in: "Jadon Sancho is playing in case anyone is unsure."

A sixth made the point: "Antony has been at united for less than a month and is already 10x the player Jadon Sancho is...."

Honest as ever, another fan declared: "Time to admit Jadon Sancho is a bad signing."

Sancho played 86 minutes in the win and was replaced by Anthony Elanga. A lot of the criticism of his performance was likely because of how good new man Antony looked on the opposite flank.

The Brazilian was so exciting, constantly jinking in and out of players and making things happen.

United are fifth in the Premier League, one point behind fourth-placed Chelsea and four points adrift of Wednesday's opponents Spurs, who are in third on 23 points.
