Liverpool Youngster Tyler Morton Somehow Avoided A Red Card With Dangerous Tackle In EFL Cup Win

Tyler Morton was lucky to avoid a red card.

Liverpool youngster Tyler Morton somehow avoided a red card following an extremely reckless tackle on Ricardo Pereira.

Morton started in his side's come-from-behind EFL Cup quarter-final victory over Leicester City on Wednesday.

But he only lasted till the break, with James Milner replacing him at half-time as the Reds went onto book their spot in the semi-final.

However, the 19-year-old was lucky to see half-time having committed a dangerous tackle in the 10th minute of their cup clash.

Morton flew into a challenge with Ricardo as he left the ground in a tackle that only saw him receive a yellow card.

Match referee Andy Madley cautioned the youngster, but fans online reckon he should have been sent off.

One tweeted: "Didn't take long for their hypocrisy to be exposed."

A second wrote: "Did the kid get interviewed after making that challenge? I guess that challenge don't count coz he ain't famous."

A third added: "I wanna hear Klopp’s and Pool fans’ thoughts on this."

It comes after Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool supporters bemoaned the decision to NOT red card Harry Kane for his tackle on Andy Robertson last weekend.

The England captain caught the Scotland defender on the shin in a dangerous tackle, with Paul Tierney brandishing a yellow card.

Robertson then got himself sent off for lashing out at Emerson Royal.

Should Morton have been sent off against Leicester? Let us know.
