Incredible Footage Emerges Of Lionel Messi Destroying Teams At 'Peak Of His Powers,' He Was Unstoppable In This Form

"This version of Messi was unstoppable [...]," one fan said. A 'peak' Lionel Messi was magical for both Argentina and Barcelona.

Lionel Messi’s incredible exploits during the ‘peak of his powers’ for Argentina and Barcelona have been compiled into a single stunning compilation video.

The 34-year-old Argentine superstar has already etched his name into the history books as one of the best players of all time alongside Pele, Diego Maradona and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Messi scored a staggering 672 times and registered a whopping 301 assists in 778 appearances for Barcelona ahead of his exit from the Camp Nou back in the summer.

That’s not to mention the astonishing club-record 35 trophies Messi scooped at Barcelona, which included 10 La Liga titles and four Champions Leagues.

The seven-time Ballon d'Or winner has scored an impressive 80 times for Argentina in 158 appearances, not to mention lifting his first major international silverware at the 2021 Copa America.

One YouTube user has now spotlighted Messi’s mesmerising performances from 2009 to 2013, claiming this was when he was playing at his ‘peak.’

Messi thrived under the remarkable Pep Guardiola era at Barcelona from 2008 to 2012 and hoovered up the trophies at the Camp Nou.

Of course, the Paris Saint-Germain forward’s record-breaking achievements included shattering Gerd Muller's former long-standing goalscoring feat in a calendar year.

Messi scored a whopping 91 times in 69 matches across all competitions for Barcelona and Argentina in 2012.

“At Messi's peak, no player in history is even worthy of tying his laces,” one fan commented.

Someone else posted: “If I ever see a player even close to his ability again before I die, I’ll count myself a very lucky man. As crazy as it sounds, I still don’t think he gets the respect he deserves. The King.”

And a third added: “This version of Messi was unstoppable, I remember how Real Madrid were unable to stop him every time they met and he either scored a goal or assisted a goal.”

While a fourth said: “Messi had a lot of prime stages (dribbling, playmaking, goalscoring, etc.) but GOD 2012 Messi was absolutely insane. 91 goals and around 20 assists in 69 games. 21-game streak with [at] least one goal in La Liga. WTF are those numbers?”

A fifth wrote: “No-one even comes close to this level. I'm thankful I live in his era.”

Messi is in his first season with PSG and has scored six times and registered five assists in 15 appearances.
