Willian Says Ronaldinho Is The Best Of All Time

The Chelsea winger has snubbed five time Ballon d'Or winners Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi and instead gone for his countryman.

Neither Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi is the greatest player of all time, that's the view of Chelsea winger Willian, who believes it is former Brazil forward Ronaldinho.

For many the best player of all time is either Ronaldo or Messi, with the pair currently locked on five Ballon d'Or awards and still with several years of their careers left.

Chelsea winger Willian doesn't think that either man should be considered the G.O.A.T, with the Brazilian thinking that countryman Ronaldinho did more overall. As reported by the Mirror, Willian said, "Ronaldinho was the best of all time. Better than Messi and Cristiano

"They score goals, but what Ronnie did was incredible. He was amazing on the field and also scored."

The former Shakhtar also thinks that Ronaldinho would have won more personal silverware if he'd stayed at Barcelona, adding, "As a fan of his, I have to say that he left too soon. If he had kept up the level a couple of years, he would have won many more Ballon d'Or's"

'Ronnie' did win the Ballon d'Or in 2005 and won the FIFA World Player of the Year in 2004 and 2005 but things did go downhill quickly for him after leaving the Camp Nou.

He left Barcelona in 2008 after winning the treble with Pep Guardiola's team but the boss was worried his partying ways could be a bad influence on Messi, who was really starting to make an impact.

The Brazilian moved to Italy with AC Milan and in three years at the San Siro he couldn't quite reach his former heights, although they did win the league in his final season there.

Ronaldinho went back to his country of birth to play for Flamengo and Atletico Mineiro before moving to Mexico with Querétaro before finally moving home to play for Fluminense.

According to reports Willian could follow in his heroes footsteps and move to the Camp Nou. The 31-year-old was linked with a big money move that never paid off in the summer.

This week he was again linked with the move but with his contract expiring next summer it would this time be for free.
