Patrice Evra kicking a fan evoked memories of Eric Cantona's kung-fu kick. And a video of Lee Sharpe detailing the aftermath in the dressing room has surfaced, and it's bloody gold.

Following Evra striking a fan, he's left Marseille by mutual consent with UEFA slapping the left-back with a ban and a fine.

Naturally, United fans drew comparisons with his actions to Cantona's incident in 1995 at Selhurst Park. 'King Eric' infamously kicked a Crystal Palace supporter who has hurling abuse his way, after being sent off.

And one of his teammate on that night, Sharpe, has recalled the scene in the dressing room following the 1-1 draw.

Prepare to get your ribs tickled. This is amazing:

Despite going apeshit at a fan, Sir Alex Ferguson didn't give his talisman the hairdryer treatment. Instead, going after the likes of Sharpe himself, Mark Hughes, Paul Ince and Gary Pallister.

Cantona was subsequently banned for eight months.

Meanwhile, Evra is unable to compete in UEFA competitions until June 2018. And as previously mentioned, no longer plying his trade with the Ligue 1 outfit.

"By mutual agreement, Marseille and Evra have decided to put an end to their partnership," said a club statement via BBC. "The player's contract is officially terminated with immediate effect."
