Following Luis Suarez's goals to open proceedings, Messi added a second from the spot to surpass Gerd Muller for scoring the most goals (525) for one club in the top five European leagues.
He then embarrassed Marcelo to provide a goal for Aleix Vidal who made it three, wrapping up the points at the Bernabeu.
But feast your eyes on Messi's heroics who orchestrated Barcelona's victory. Time to gawk:
What a victory. What a performance. What a player.
Barcelona's commanding win extends their lead at the top, while opening up a 14 point gap over the defending champions.
