Ronaldo Names Five Teams He Thinks Could Win The World Cup

The Brazil legend won the World Cup with his country twice, in 1994 and 2002.

It's the last international week till the World Cup which means it's the last time we hate international football till after the tournament. One man who know what it's like to win, Ronaldo, has predicted the teams who could lift the ultimate title this time around.

There's now just 85 days until the World Cup starts and we all suddenly care about Russia vs Saudi Arabia when previously there's a good chance we wouldn't have watched that game if it was on in our back garden.

Even as an England fan the World Cup is a magical time, mainly because by now we've all given up thoughts of the Three Lions getting anywhere near winning and we can just concentrate on bloody good football.

Check out Gazza's ultimate England XI, this lot might have won a World Cup (they'd have lost on penalties):

The tournament brings back wonderful memories of watching Brazil's Ronaldo destroying defences, especially at both the 1998 and 2002 World Cup, the first two I really remember.

And the former Real Madrid and Barcelona forward knows a thing or two about the competition having once held the title of top scorer and having won it twice and once being a runner up.

That said he still has some weird views about the World Cup. After all talking to Omnisport in Brazil he named England as one of the teams who had a chance to win in Russia this summer:

"I think Germany are always strong, Spain is strong as well, England, France, Argentina, with [Lionel] Messi, it's always difficult to win the World Cup. But we will see a beautiful World Cup. I hope Brazil can win again."

Right so Spain won three tournaments in a row before a recent blip but still have some of the best players in the world. France reached the finals of the Euros and also have some of the best players and Argentina reached the final of the last World Cup and have THE best player in Lionel Messi- solid choices then.

But England? They've been to one semi-final since 1966 and in recent tournaments have been knocked out by Iceland and Costa Rica!

The former Ballon d'Or winner also talked about his own countries chances of putting the failure of four years ago behind them and winning in July, "At a World Cup, everyone knows it's a very difficult tournament.

"I think Brazil has improved in the last one-and-a-half years with the change in manager. We have a very strong team for the World Cup. Neymar getting injured is a big problem for us but I think he will recover soon and he'll be fit for the World Cup."

Who will win the World Cup?
