This might just be my favourite story of the year so far. Paul Gascoigne is back playing football again.
The 50-year-old rolled back the years by scoring for Newcastle legends in a charity match honouring the late Pavel Srnicek, who sadly passed away in December 2015.
'Gazza' appeared in the match as a special guest, joining the likes of Peter Beardsley, Darren Peacock and Steve Harper during the second edition of the Srnicek Cup.

Newcastle Legends eventually won the game 7-1, with a healthy-looking Gascoigne stealing the show with that famous smile.
Here he is celebrating the goal, as the strong crowd cheered his finish:

It really is great to see the legendary forward looking so well.
During the game, another Newcastle legend Peter Beardsley beat four men to then roll it past the keeper, while goalkeeper Steve Harper even got himself on the scoresheet.
Following the win, Gascoigne proceeded to lift the Srnicek Cup with a number of Newcastle legends at Dunston UTS.

'A goal, a win and a trophy for Gazza', tweeted the Chronicle's chief sports writer @lee_ryder:
Again, it's great to see the legendary midfielder back on the pitch, smiling and enjoying his football once again.
Keep it up, Gazza.
