Lionel Messi reached an incredible milestone after he scored his 50th career hat-trick with his 650th career goal.

Jesús Navas opened the scoring for Sevilla, but the Barcelona captain stepped up and scored a superb volley to pull his side back into the match.

Sevilla restored their advantage thanks to Gabriel Mercado, but the 31-year-old Argentine ace was once again called into action and equalised with a brilliant strike for Barça.

The five-time Ballon d'Or winner fired his side in front after he completed his hat-trick in the 85th minute, with him completing a world-class performance by setting up Luis Suárez for Barcelona's fourth.
