We ran out of superlatives to describe David Beckham a long time ago, but even so, the 41-year-old Manchester United and England legend continues to earn our adulation through being one of the best blokes on the planet. Like an English version of The Rock. Only with less muscles and an affinity for jellied eels.

Tonight will see Beckham's record as the most capped outfield player in England's history be overtaken when Wayne Rooney earns his 116th cap for the Three Lions against Slovakia in a World Cup qualifier. The England captain has said that the tournament in Russia, in 2018, will mark his last appearances in an England shirt, with many fans stating their relief at the Manchester United man's decision, with others disappointed he's wanting to carry on for another two years.

Beckham, however, isn't one for criticism or cynicism and has instead issued a rallying call to the England captain ahead of his record breaking appearance.

Dear Big Sam, we think you need to bring big Dave back for next couple of years. Don't have him do anything apart from take free kicks, corners and pose for dramatic photographs. Cheers.
