He's still a young man who continues to live up to his promise, and as Marcus Rashford maintains his trajectory to super-stardom, the Manchester United starlet has revealed the four players he tries to emulate before finding his own identity.

The 19-year-old rose to prominence following his heroics under Louis van Gaal. He marked his first-team debut with a brace against the Danish minnows, and followed that performance with another two-goal haul against Arsenal in the Premier League.

In the space of a few days, Rashford quickly made a name for himself.

Following the arrivals of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Romelu Lukaku, over the seasons, Rashford has been forced to play out of position, but he's willing to employ another role if it means minutes on the pitch.

"I'm a striker but, if you have to play elsewhere to wait for your time, so be it," Rashford told The Times via Squawka.

He then added how we watches Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Wayne Rooney and Neymar.

"Ronaldo, Messi, Rooney, Neymar - everyone knows good football when you see it and that's what I like to watch as well. You try to emulate those players, especially when you're young, until you find your own identity."

The England international compares his era to Ronaldo's spell at Old Trafford.

"It's different now to what it was. Teams defend a lot more now as a unit rather than, 'That's your man, you defend him'.

"It's hard to take a specific aspect (from a player) but it's easier to take things like mentality or characteristics.

Rashford came face-to-face with the former United hero in pre-season during the UEFA Super Cup, and he recalled the moment.

"I played against Ronaldo in the Super Cup, only on for 20 minutes but, if you look at his movement now and how he has changed to when he was young, it is amazing, and that he still continues this (still prolific at 32).

"No, it's actually a different technique (I use). I can do it like he does it but I haven't done it yet (in a match)," he added.

After his heroics for United, Rashford received a call-up to the England team in 2016, where he's earned 11 caps, scoring two goals.

He'll be hoping to add to those tallies when England face Slovenia then Lithuania in World Cup qualifiers, this week.
