Jamie Carragher Decides Between Mo Salah And Luis Suarez

Two excellent forwards for Liverpool but which one does Reds' legend Jamie Carragher think is best?

Luis Suarez took Liverpool to within a hare's breath of winning the Premier League title and Mo Salah could take the Reds to Champions League glory. So which one was better for the English side?

They may have spent £35 million to sign mega flop Andy Carroll and £15 million on Mario Balotelli but in the last few years Liverpool's signings up front have been rather special, with Mo Salah the latest forward to shine at Anfield.

In 2007 Liverpool signed Fernando Torres and the Spaniard was brilliant for Liverpool, his partnership with Steven Gerrard leading Rafa Benitez's side to second in the Premier League.

Torres really loved a game against Manchester United:

When he left Luis Suarez slotted in nicely and the Uruguayan would have gone one better than his predecessor if it wasn't for Gerrard's slip and the Crystal Palace comeback.

Liverpool felt a huge loss when Suarez went to Barcelona and it took them a couple of years to replace him but this season Mo Salah has gone beyond what the former Ajax man managed.

So who is the best of Suarez and Salah? Well Jamie Carragher revealed his thoughts when speaking to Goal, saying:

"People are comparing him [Salah] to Suarez when he was here, who would you rather have and all that. But what Salah has over Suarez, for Liverpool, is the big games he's scored in

"Suarez is probably a better player all round, but for a one-off season there can't be many who have had a season like this in the history of the club.

Suarez did score 69 goals in 110 league games for Liverpool, scoring 82 all in competitions, however he only won one competition in his time at Anfield, the League Cup in 2012.

Of course Salah is only one season into his time with the Reds and is yet to win any silverware himself. However he will have a chance to win the Champions League in his first season.

The Egyptian has already surpassed everything expected of him this season, or any season for that matter, and has scored 31 Premier League goals in his debut season.

His exploits have seen him lead the Premier League's scoring charts for the season and he has won the PFA and FWA Player of the Season awards.

Sure there's plenty of fans who would disagree with Carragher but the Liverpool legend did make a fair point about the pair.

He may soon change his mind if Salah scores a Champions League winning goal.
