Real Madrid and Spain legend Iker Casillas has suggested that former Real Madrid and Barcelona players get together for a 'vintage Classico' once normality return, with the money going to charity.

The mood because of the current global pandemic isn't helped by the fact that there's no football on at the moment and we all long for the days when it's able to return.

When that does happen we could be treated to something really special, with Casillas suggesting getting the band back together for a legends Classico match for charity.

The Classico remains one of the biggest games of the season but the current sides have lost some of the magic and vitriol towards each other in recent years.

When Pep Guardiola was in charge at Barcelona and Jose Mourinho was the manager of Real, the two sides were the bet around and the matches came with real hatred, which despite going too far on occasion made the encounters more exciting.

Away from that heated era though the two sides have obviously had many of the world's best players and seeing the likes of Luis Figo, Zinedine Zidane, Rivaldo, Roberto Carlos and Carles Puyol return to the pitch would be extremely exciting.

Casillas suffered a heart attack whilst training with Porto in 2019, where he was playing at the time, he never returned to playing and retired in February this year.

The World Cup winning captain made his debut with Los Blancos in 1999 to become the youngest keeper to have played in the Champions League, later becoming the youngest goalie to win the competition later that season.

He played 16 seasons for the sides first team, making 725 appearances, and won five La Liga titles and three Champions League titles.

An icons match certainly couldn't be played without him, and we can't wait for it!
