Eric Cantona Picks His Legends World XI

What a side!

Eric Cantona was asked to pick his Dream XI and in typical form of the Frenchman he defied the convention of picking any current players and instead ended up with a legends XI managed by himself and we bloody love it!

Instead of concentrating on kung-fu kicking members of the crowd Cantona now focuses more on pretending to be a farmer in order to pick up women and get bought French beer but the former Manchester United striker still knows his football.

Foregoing the likes of Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, Cantona goes for player of the ilk of Franz Beckenbauer, Diego Maradona and Johan Cruyff whilst Roy Keane and George Best are the only names from his former club. It's a rather attacking 3-4-3, with Maradona and Garrincha as part of the four man midfield/five man attack.

Speaking about picking himself as manager of the fantasy team the four time Premier League winner said: "I was going to choose Cruyff as a player-manager because I loved his tactical brain. He was always thinking, he always wanted to improve his players. I know what his teams can do as I watched from the stands as his Barcelona side beat United 4-0 in 1994. But then I thought, 'I picked the team, so I should manage them'. I would love to take charge of this team. I know we would have some good times."

We think that this team would definitely concede some goals but they'd score a lot more, it's just a shame we can't see these fantasy XI's play against each other, without the use of technology anyway.
