Arsenal new boy Henrikh Mkhitaryan will have not one but TWO squad numbers.

(Arsenal - What could have been:)

The Alexis Sanchez-Mkhitaryan transfer saga is in the history books following official word from both clubs about their respective deals, last night.

Manchester United confirmed the signing of the Chilean ace, with Arsenal also rubber-stamping the Mkhitaryan transfer.

The Armenian maestro not only swaps places with Sanchez, but also takes his No.7 shirt which he vacated.

United's superb January acquisition will continue to don the No.7 shirt, previously worn by the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Eric Cantona, among other legendary figures.

But while Mkhitaryan will sport the No.7 shirt, Arsenal have confirmed he'll have another squad number.

The Arsenal faithfuls will see their latest addition in the No.7 shirt during the Premier League, though will see him in another number when he runs out in the Europa League.

Per Arsenal FC: "The No 7 shirt was vacated by Alexis this month but, because our former forward wore the number during our group-stage win against Cologne back in September, UEFA rules state that Mkhitaryan must wear a different number for the remainder of our Europa League campaign.

"This number will be confirmed soon," the statement added.

So, No.7 in the league and another number when Arsenal resume their European excursion.

We know what he should do...

Remember Ivan Zamorano's Inter Milan squad number?

The Chilean striker opted for '1+8' because Ronaldo had the No.9 shirt.

Clinton Morrison also did the same while at Coventry City. He rocked '1+9'.

Here's hoping Arsenal assign Mkhitaryan with '1+6' for the Europa League campaign.
