Olympique Marseille's New Third Kit Is Fucking Divine

Olympique Marseille's New Third Kit Is Fucking Divine

A big, triumphant purple bastard of a footy top

Let's face it, all the greats wear purple. Don't believe me? Gabriel Batistuta, Manuel Rui Costa, Prince, those Quality Streets. So it's only fitting that the most successful team in French football history have chosen to be adorned in the colour next season.

Olympique Marseille, 10 time Ligue Un champions and the only French club to lift the European Cup, have become synonymous with Adidas over the years, often drawing envious glances from across Europe for the sartorial elegance of their kits.

I mean, just look at Chris Waddle, here. The early '90s have never looked better:

However, 2018 will mark the end of Adidas' relationship with l'OM and judging by the latest leak of next season's third kit, it looks as though the brand with the three stripes intend to go out on a high.

The 2017/18 l'OM third kit will be a purple number that is as simple as it is stylish.

Exuding Gallic grace from every fibre, the deep purple effort will contain no shirt sponsor as the Intersport sponsorship was not renewed which, of course, immediately makes it a thousand times better than any ordinary football top.

Let's hope it remains this way once the 17/18 campaign kicks off.

The new third kit features a classic club logo and traditional shirt collar. The fabric used by Adidas aims to resemble that of a more historical football shirt rather than something more modern.

It is believed that Puma will take over from Adidas as l'OM's kit manufacturers, next year. No pressure, lads, but you've got over 25 years of pure fire to live up to.
