New Balance have got everything pretty much spot on since they began designing Liverpool's kits in 2014 and their latest release is a daring effort, with the sportswear giants opting for a dark green design complete with fluorescent detailing.
It's been a while since we saw the Reds don a green away strip, with white and black being the preferred colour choices in recent years. But, seven years removed from Adidas' classy 08/09 third kit, in which Rafa Benitez's men ran Manchester United close, finishing second in the Premier League title race, the green has returned to adorn Jurgen Klopp's team for a select few games for the 2016/17 campaign.
Initial leaks of the kit had the 'toxic' green as the prominent colour, but now it appears New Balance have opted for a more reserved choice of scheme, although it remains to be seen what the Anfield faithful will make of the design. If it brings the same push for the title as 08/09's green kit did, with Daniel Sturridge and Philippe Coutinho adopting the roles of the free scoring Fernando Torres and Steven Gerrard from that season, then Reds' fans may grow to love their latest third kit.
