Chelsea's New Home Shirt Will Cost You A Fortune

Chelsea's New Home Shirt Will Cost You A Fortune

How much!?

They may not be particularly well liked, but Chelsea do have a history of their players being decked out in some of the finest kits in the Premier League and next season's effort from Adidas is no different. It is also, however, a football shirt that will cost you a fucking fortune to buy.

Of course, football shirts have always been pretty extortionate, so the news that you'll have to remortgage your house to afford Chelsea's (and we imagine, most Premier League teams once their's are officially released) new top may not be THAT shocking, but when you see that a 'normal' standard replica top will set you back north of £70, you've got to imagine that someone, somewhere is taking the piss and needs to be stopped from ripping football fans off any further.

The prices of the various types of shirt (there's your bog standard, everyday knockabout number and a 'Adi Zero' special that is made from unicorn hair and diamonds, apparently) have made headline news and caused former Nottingham Forest and Liverpool striker and current talkSPORT presenter Stan Collymore to vent his outrage at the prices on Twitter.

And Collymore's not the only one who's disgusted at the cost of the top.

Of course, prices can be kept down (relatively) without names and numbers being added to the back of the shirts (£55 for regular, £90 for 'Adi Zero'), but the point remains that to release a football shirt that could cost over £100 is scandalous when it will only be used by the club for one season.
