Chelsea will go back to this season's home kit for the Champions League final after two losses in the new one.

The Blues wore their new 2021/22 home jersey in the defeats against Leicester City in the FA Cup final and Barcelona in the Women's Champions League final.

To ease the fears of Chelsea's board members, Thomas Tuchel's side will sport their current home kit instead of the new one.

It is claimed that some figures at the club believe it is bad luck to wear the new shirt in such a big occasion, per the Daily Mail.

So, Chelsea and Manchester City will both be wearing this season's home kit for the Champions League final.

What's more, the Stamford Bridge club decided to wear their new home strip for the Champions League final against Manchester United back in 2008.

Of course, they lost to Sir Alex Ferguson's team on penalties in Moscow.

That result saw them play in their current home kits in the 2012 Champions League final against Bayern Munich and the 2013 and 2019 Europa League finals - all which they won.

Chelsea, who qualified for the Champions League by the skin of their teeth this season, will be looking to add a second Champions League title to their collection.
