Next season Manchester United will be hoping the spirit of the 1968 European Cup win lives in their new third kit which is inspired by the victory 50 years ago in the Premier League and Champions League.

It's new kit season, which you all know we absolutely love, and Manchester United's third kit for the 2018/19 season is definitely an early front runner for one of the best looking kits for next term.

Of course there's every chance we'll say that about 10 more times between now and when next season actually starts but please bear with us.

50 years ago, just 10 years after the Munich air disaster ripped through most of his team in tragic circumstances, Sir Matt Busby led Manchester United to their first ever European final.

They faced Benfica at Wembley in the European Cup final and beat the Portuguese side which included Eusebio 4-1 after extra time thanks to goals from Bobby Charlton, George Best and Brian Kidd, on his 19th birthday.

On that day the Red Devils were dressed in their blue away kit and next season's third kit will be a similar dark blue to mark the anniversary:

Football fans often look into who is and who isn't in photoshoots of the new kit and team photos and calendars before the new season and the appearance of Anthony Martial will raise some questions.

There are plenty of rumours that the Frenchman is unhappy with his playing time at Old Trafford, especially with the introduction of Alexis Sanchez, and he could leave in the summer.

Of course there'd be lots of interest for his services and it's starting to look like Jose Mourinho doesn't fancy him but maybe the fact he's in the new kit is evidence to suggest he could stay, or probably not.

The kit is also environmentally friendly as it will be made from recycled plastic from the ocean, so it's a big thumbs up from us.

Can the kits inspire United to Champions League or Premier League glory next season?
