The third kit, a wonderful addition to modern football that we're very much into. Barcelona have used Pro Evolution 2019, and their partnership with the game, to announce their pink and red number for the season.

Once upon a time SPORTbible didn't exist and football teams only had two kits, home and away. What's more is they generally only changed one of the kits every year so home kits lasted two seasons and so did away kits.

Fortunately that doesn't happen anymore otherwise we wouldn't be able to run all these wonderful kit stories that we know you absolutely love, heck we wouldn't write them if you didn't.

So with three kits every year teams and manufacturers have to get inventive with the designs and reveals and that's what Barcelona have done with their pink and red number for this season:

Barca and Konami announced a three year partnership two years ago, starting with PES 2017, with Konami president Tomotada Tashiro saying, "This is a real statement of intent for us. By working closely with a team of Barcelona's stature we can introduce the PES series to a huge global fan base."

The game manufacturer probably hasn't been too impressed that their deal coincided with three years where Barca's greatest rivals Real Madrid won the Champions League three times in a row and they got knocked out in the quarter finals all three times.

At least the new kit looks pretty nice:

The Catalans will hope their chances of recapturing Europe's biggest prize have been boosted this year by the fact that Real have lost both Cristiano Ronaldo and Zinedine Zidane.

In turn though Juventus have become one of the favourites to win just their third European title whilst PSG and Manchester City are also amongst the favourites.

Can Barca win the Champions League whilst looking pretty in pink?
