Manchester United's commemorative Chinese New Year kit has been released and it's certainly a unique football shirt.

The shirt won't be worn in an official match but it is set to go on sale through the Adidas store and has been revealed by FootyHeadlines.

United are selling a variety of Chinese New Year merchandise online already so the kit will likely drop soon.

The kit features a dragon pattern all around the shirt and it is certainly eye catching.

The Adidas logo is in the center of the shirt, similar to the EA Sports special kit that the Red Devils released last year.

Some United fans will be glad that they never have to see the shirt on the pitch but it's hard to deny it is eye catching.

United have had a mixed bag in terms of their shirts this season.

The return to white shorts with the home kit is welcoming for most fans but the away kit's off-colour hasn't gone down well with most.

It's believed that United are set to break from tradition next season and wear a black and white striped kit akin to old Juventus jerseys next season.

In the 1978/79 season United did wear a similar white away kit to the one that has been suggested with two thin black stripes down the 'pocket' of the shirt.

It's also not the first shirt that has been potentially leaked before the 2020/2021 season.

Barcelona's jersey for next season is set to be a return to tradition after a diversion to a checkered pattern this year.

The rumoured new shirt does look smart with the yellow collar reminiscent of the 2012/2013 season when the late Tito Vilanova was in charge.

Football kits are important fixtures in the modern game and it's interesting to see the different variations that kit manufacturers bring out every year.
