At the age of nine, on a brisk December morning, I ventured into the Cumbrian wilderness to buy a classic pair of 2004 Reebok Strikezone Pro Baleni III - the boot iconic for being one of the first silos to completely hide laces.
It was a moment i'll never forget.
From the Premier League to Sunday League, a player rarely forgets their first pair of football boots.

Nothing compares to the joy of scoring your first goal with a new pair of cleats. You convince yourself that these boots make you a better player. Without them, you are worthless. 'Just another player'.
A pair of boots define you on the field. If you walk out of the dressing room in a pair of luminous green Nike Vapours, then you're going to get snapped. No doubt about it.
On the other hand, a pair of Adidas Predators will earn you respect. A cultured midfielder with frightening passing accuracy defines this boots' legacy.
It now appears as though the iconic boot will be getting a re-release very soon. The original 'Preds' came to prominence in 2002, and have since been worn by some of the greats, including David Beckham and Steven Gerrard among others.
Football boots have evolved dramatically in recent years but for the majority, a boot from years past will be your ultimate favourite.
