Adidas Set To Bring Out New Manchester United 'Icon' Kit

Adidas Set To Bring Out New Manchester United 'Icon' Kit

The new kit looks like a classic from the 80s but legendary striker Eric Cantona would definitely fancy flicking that collar up.

Manchester United's form is certainly making them look like their old selves and the Red Devils and their fans will be able to look even more like their old selves with Adidas' Icon kit.

Ever since Sir Alex Ferguson left Old Trafford at the end of the 2012/13 season Manchester United have looked like a shell of their former selves with last season's second place finish their best since their last league title under 'Fergie.'

Even last season saw them 19 points off the pace, with Manchester City far in the distance, and this season won't be a repeat of that 'success' thanks to their poor start to the season.

In the past two months United are looking like themselves again with late comebacks, goals, good football and 11 domestic games unbeaten, thanks to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, another call back to their previous success.

With the upturn in fortunes at Old Trafford it'll be interesting to see if Solskjaer makes it past the end of the season or if the club will go with someone with more experience.

There is some good news for fans ahead of the summer, they're going to be getting a lovely new 'icon' kit from Adidas in the summer, as leaked by Footyheadlines.

The shirt is for the 2019/20 season and United would be the latest of Adidas 'big clubs' to have an icon shirt produced for them in time for next season.

The kit wouldn't be worn by players for games but would be available to buy in the summer, they will only be brought out in long sleeve.

Last year United and Adidas brought out a classic style short sleeved kit with a rounder 'fake' collar but the new design, whilst having an 80s look to it, would work perfectly for 90s legend Eric Cantona.

What do you make of the new shirt?
