I've never been a good enough or flashy enough footballer to get away with shiny and colourful boots. Personally it was always about the black leather boot, a proper classic look. So the new Adidas boots are perfection to me.
As a footballer my main weapons were the ability to completely miss the ball but land a kick on the attackers shin as he went past me for the umpteenth time that match and my even greater ability to wind the opposition up with the odd dig or knock off the ball or anything I thought would get a reaction.
So it's no surprise my entire Sunday League career consisted of black leather boots, apart from the time my boots broke and I needed a new pair for a few matches and end up with a shiny silver pair.

Initially at the end of last year Adidas released an updated version of their infamous World Cup or Copa Mundial boots but this time in a more garish red:
However at £149.95 you can now get yourself a pair in the classic black and white leather, much better lads.
