Kaka Claims Chelsea Star Romelu Lukaku 'Reminds Him' Of A Prime Legendary Striker

Kaka Claims Chelsea Star Romelu Lukaku 'Reminds Him' Of A Prime Legendary Striker

Ballon d'Or winner Kaka says that AC Milan can win the Serie A title this season after Romelu Lukaku's exit from Inter Milan in the summer.

Kaka has insisted that Chelsea star Romelu Lukaku is the “number one” striker in the world and ‘reminds him’ of legendary Brazilian Adriano.

Lukaku, 28, was in sensational goalscoring form last season as he helped fire Inter Milan to the Serie A title ahead of AC Milan.

The Belgian striker scored 24 times in Serie A and finished second in the race for the Capocannoniere award (top scorer) behind former Juventus star Cristiano Ronaldo.

Lukaku left Inter in the summer to complete a sensational £97.5m return to Chelsea.

The former Inter star was loaned out to West Brom and Everton during his initial Chelsea spell before he left Stamford Bridge in 2014.

Lukaku scored on his second Chelsea debut against Arsenal in August before scoring a brace in his side’s 3-0 win over Aston Villa last Saturday.

The Belgium international added to his goalscoring tally on Tuesday with his winner against Zenit Saint Petersburg in their Champions League clash at Stamford Bridge.

Kaka, who lifted the Ballon d'Or during his time with AC Milan, has now hailed Lukaku as the best striker in the world.

The 39-year-old Brazil legend added that Lukaku shows shades of a prime Adriano, who was widely considered as one of the best strikers in the mid-2000s.

Kaka told Gazzetta dello Sport (via SempreInter): “Romelu is number one, he reminds me of Adriano at his best -- physical strength, intelligence, speed.

“A year ago, AC Milan took the lead [in the Serie A title race] after the first derby, then Inter took it back and won deservedly.”

Antonio Conte left Inter at the end of last season and star players like Lukaku and Achraf Hakimi exited the club amid the defending Italian champions’ financial struggles.

Inter are fourth in Serie A after their first three matches this season, with Napoli third, Milan second and Roma at the top of the table.

Kaka believes that Milan could finally clinch the Serie A title after Lukaku signed for Chelsea and Ronaldo made his blockbuster return to Manchester United.

“I think it could be the right time for Milan,” he continued.

“They have continuity, while the others have each lost something -- Juventus no longer have Ronaldo, Inter will have to spread goals out in the team without Lukaku.

“[AC Milan boss Stefano] Pioli gave up on Ibra for a long time [last season]. Conte always had Lukaku available to him.

“Today Ibra is still there and [Olivier] Giroud has joined, I think and I hope that we can go all the way.”
