Man City Move For Harry Kane Could Collapse Because Of Cristiano Ronaldo

Man City Move For Harry Kane Could Collapse Because Of Cristiano Ronaldo

Manchester City could turn their attention to signing Cristiano Ronaldo if their latest Harry Kane bid fails.

Manchester City could make signing Cristiano Ronaldo their priority this summer - if their latest bid for Tottenham Hotspur's Harry Kane fails.

Throughout the transfer window, Pep Guardiola’s side have been negotiating with Spurs, with the club no closer to signing Kane, having had a £100m bid rejected last month.

However, according to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, the Citizens are poised to come in with a fresh £127m offer for the 28-year-old, who trained with Spurs for the first time today since returning from holiday.

“Manchester City want to sign Harry Kane, they have a new bid ready, £127m,” Romano claimed on his YouTube channel.

“After beating Man City on the pitch in the opening game of the Premier League, they want to keep Harry Kane.

“So it’s a poker game, with City pushing - they want Kane - but Tottenham, at the moment, are not accepting any bid and that’s why the situation is still open, so let’s see what happens in the coming days.”

Guardiola’s side have so far been frustrated in their attempts to sign Kane, with their need for more firepower up front evident in Sunday’s 1-0 defeat to Spurs.

But if City are unable to obtain Kane’s signature, then they will be able to turn their attention to five-time Ballon d’Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo.

According to Corriere dello Sport, Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes has reportedly offered the Citizens the chance to sign the Portuguese phenomenon.

Just like Kane, Ronaldo would arrive with the promise of goals, with the former Real Madrid star finishing last season as Serie A's top scorer with 29 goals.

With the transfer window slamming shut in exactly two weeks, it will be interesting to see how this transfer saga develops. Watch this space.
