Wayne Rooney was once again the man of the hour after he scored an outrageous free-kick for DC United.

During the match against Orlando City at the Orlando City Stadium, the 33-year-old former England captain prepared to take the free-kick from the tightest of angles.

However, it wasn't a problem for Rooney to roll back the years as he struck the ball so sweetly that it left 'keeper Brian Rowe completely helpless.

Check it out below.

Take a bow, son!

The former Everton and Manchester United star has kickstarted his second season in the MLS with an absolute bang, having played four matches so far and already scoring four times and assisting twice.

Steve Birnbaum opened the scoring for DC United and Rooney doubled their lead before the end of the first half.

While Dom Dwyer was able to pull one back for Orlando City in the second half, Rooney's breathtaking free-kick proved to be vital in sealing a 2-1 win for DC United.

It was also a special occasion for United and England's all-time record scorer, mainly for how former Red Devils teammate Nani plays for Orlando City.

Ahead of the clash, the 32-year-old Portuguese winger revealed that he was excited for a "catch up" with Rooney.

"It's a long time since I've seen him. It will be a good time to catch up and talk a little bit," he told CNN.

"We will enjoy seeing each other, hopefully put on a good show for the fans, challenge each other and, at the end, we can sit and chill out a little bit."
