The football season may be over, but that doesn't mean there's got to be a shortage of goals for us to lose our minds over, as Michael Bradley proved during the United States' 1-1 draw with Mexico, last night.

The CONCACAF rivals clashed at the Estadio Azteca, last night, where the US Men's National Team had won just once in 11 previous attempts.

And it was former Roma midfielder Bradley who gave the US a dream start after just six minutes.

The US captain pounced on a loose ball in midfield, with his first touch taking him bursting into the Mexican half before the Toronto FC man left El Tri goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa completely helpless by sinking an absolutel knee trembler of a chip into the net.

Former Arsenal youngster Carlos Vela would equalise for the home team, but the point is a vital and creditable one for Bruce Arena's team, who have endured a rough qualification campaign, thus far.

Jurgen Klinsmann was replaced as the Americans' head coach after back-to-back defeats against Mexico and Costa Rica, but four points from their last two games, including a Christian Pulisic inspired defeat of Trinidad and Tobago on Thursday night, in Denver, has seen the USMNT join Costa Rica in second place, level on points but having played a game more.

Speaking of Bradley's majestic early strike, Arena told Fox Sport One, "Obviously it gave us an advantage early on. They had a lot of the ball but tactically the game went the way we expected ... any time you get a point here it's great, the mentality and the commitment from every guy was really good."

Despite their early qualification difficulties, Arena's team should still see themselves through to next year's World Cup in Russia and will no doubt head into this summer's Gold Cup full of confidence.
