Tottenham Hotspur couldn't have come much closer to winning the game against Watford on Saturday after Erik Lamela's shot was cleared off the line by the barest of all margins.

Spurs and Watford played out a 0-0 draw on Saturday afternoon but Lamela came unbelievably close to scoring a winner in injury time as his effort was cleared off the line by Ignacio Pussetto.

Replay's showed exactly how close it was to being a goal and it really couldn't have been closer.

Technology has come under a lot of criticism this season, and once again VAR was in the spotlight after Spurs fans felt Etienne Capoue should have been sent off, but clearly goal line technology was used well.

The draw, which saw Troy Deeney have a second half penalty saved by Paulo Gazzaniga, took Spurs above Wolves and into eighth in the league but leaves them eight points behind fourth place Chelsea, who have a game in hand.

Watford's good form continues and they're now unbeaten in six games and are two points clear of the relegation zone.
