Elisah Sam scored an incredible, potential Puskas Award winning goal, as his brace helped Notts County beat Oxford City in the FA Vase.

Conference Premier side County booked their place in the FA Vase semi-final with a 3-1 victory over Oxford at home on Saturday afternoon.

The Conference South side took the lead through a Tylor Golden own goal on 26 minutes but Sam equalised just four minutes after half time.

However it wasn't until the 73rd minute that the Belgian striker, who only joined the club last year, scored his incredible second goal.

The 23-year-old turned his body when a cross was behind him in the penalty box and flicked out his foot to back heel the ball over himself and the keeper and into the goal.

The Puskas Award is handed out by FIFA at The Best awards every year and last year was won by Son Heung-min for his goal against Burnley in December 2019.

The award only started in 2009 but has been won by goals scored in England on four occasions already, with Zlatan Ibrahimovic also winning with a goal against the England national team.

Previous winner Olivier Giroud was up to his old tricks earlier this week, when he scored an overhead kick against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League.

Can Sam be the first non league goalscorer to win the award?
