Football Manager 2018 Includes A Feature Where Footballers Can Come Out As Gay

It has been revealed that Football Manager 2018 will include a feature where footballers can come out as gay.

After a screenshot was shared on Twitter of a player coming out as gay, game director Miles Jacobson has publicly spoken about the decision to allow players the chance to issue a press release announcing that they've come out.

"Part of the reason we decided to do this is because there are gay footballers. We know from the amount of professionals that there has to be players who are gay but feel they don't want to come out." Jacobson told BBC Sport.

On Sunday morning, Twitter user @lugenhimer83 tagged Jacobson in a tweet, saying: 'Is this an early Easter Egg in the FM2018 Beta?'

Football Manager's director then responded to the tweet, saying: 'I wasn't expecting this to be found so quickly but yes, it's real. And you get a nice little merchandise boost if it happens in your save.'

The decision has been branded 'commendable' and 'pioneering'.
