Are you failing to score free-kicks on FIFA 20? Do you struggle to control the new aiming mechanism? Well, a simple tutorial should help you find the net on a more regular basis.

EA Sports have made a huge change to the way penalties and free-kicks are taken in the game, and many are struggling to adapt.

While the movement of the camera was key to taking set-pieces on FIFA 19, FIFA 20 comprises of an aiming mechanic.

So how do you find the perfect balance between power and trajectory?

Firstly, you must direct the aiming circle to any corner of the net, but make sure to aim it as high as possible for optimal results. (I know it sounds bizarre but trust me,)

Then when applying shot power, charge the shoot button (circle on PS4 or B on XBOX One) for exactly 4.5 bars, like shown in the below graphic.

When running up to to the ball, you must then flick the right stick down then hold it upwards for the perfect trajectory.

Here is the full one minute tutorial video of the free-kick, uploaded by Reddit user u/teambavaria48.

In terms of the new aiming mechanism, the same can be said for penalties, but there is a bigger target available to use so that spot-kicks are much more precise and accurate.

Explaining the changes, Sam Rivera, lead gameplay producer, said:

"The aiming mechanics are completely different and more accessible but obviously we're keeping some elements of skill to make sure there's enough depth for the mechanics for those who want to be masters of those systems.

"For example in free-kicks you're going to have full control of the spin that you apply to the ball and that's going to create your trajectory. You can do side spin, top spin, no spin or a combination of them and that's going to be based on how you swing your right stick.

"You can go around the wall, you can go over the wall, you can do a knuckle-shot - ultimately these systems are more fun and you have more control. You swing the right stick and you see the trajectory being created - that's the cool part."

Do you like the new mechanism? Or do you prefer the FIFA 19 way of taking free-kicks?
