FIFA Ultimate Team can be a cruel mistress. You could easily open hundreds, if not thousands of packs, spend an absolute fortune and find yourself with Joe Allen, Daniel Sturridge and 1290 Silver cards.
On the other end of the spectrum, there's that guy who finds one of the best players in the game with his first FIFA 19 pack, yes I'm talking about you, @erikjoseph.

The FIFA gamer opened a standard Gold pack and to his surprise, he found a 94-rated, Cristiano Ronaldo walk out as confetti surrounded the Juventus forward.

The 34-year-old is once again the joint-best player on FIFA, with Lionel Messi joining him at the hip, but the odds of packing these guys is slim.

There are so many rare cards that it would be impossible to guess which one you're getting, so you never know whether the purchase was worth it, but it's obviously a lot harder to pack Messi than Chris Smalling.
That being said, we will now know how slim our chances are of packing the best players in the game in FIFA 19.
Eurogamer managed to speak to EA Sports vice president and COO Daryl Holt about the new development.

He said: "For Ultimate Team, when you buy a pack you know what you are getting. You are getting a certain number of assets that are guaranteed - and we're going to start to do pack odds disclosures that'll show you the odds of what you might get.
"That'll be in our product year 19 titles. So, at least that aspect of understanding what the chances are of getting X, Y and Z card."
We're not sure on how detailed the odds will be, but they probably won't say 'you have ...% chance of getting Neymar'.
