EA Sports have announced that the late Fiorentina captain Davide Astori will remain in FIFA 18.

Earlier this month, the footballing world was met with the awful news that the 31-year old had died in his sleep, suffering a heart attack in his hotel room in Udine as the team were preparing for the Serie A game with Udinese.

While wonderful tributes poured in for the former Italy international, some tasteless FIFA players tried to cash in on his death by hiking the price of his card on Ultimate Team.

It would have been completely understandable if EA had decided to remove Astori from the game, but as per Football Italia, they've confirmed he will still be in the Viola squad, though they have made some tweaks to his FUT items.

"FIFA Community, Along with the entire football world, we are saddened by the passing of Davide Astori," a message players were greeted with read on the game.

"After consulting with Fiorentina since Davide's passing, and to ensure we best honour his legacy, we will be taking the following actions:

"At the request of the club, Davide Astori will remain in the current Fiorentina squad in FIFA.

"Davide Astori FUT items will no longer be available in packs. The max price range of Davide Astori FUT items will be reduced.

"We again send our sincerest sympathies to the family, the entire Fiorentina club, and his fans all around the world.

"The FIFA Team."

Fair play, EA. May Davide rest in peace.
