Frank Lampard, Paul Scholes and Steven Gerrard is the rivalry that refuses to go away despite the fact that all three men have been retired for quite a while now. Here's how FIFA sees the debate.
One day I'll be able to stop writing about Frank Lampard, Paul Scholes and Steven Gerrard. I have no problem with any one man on their own but throw them all together and it becomes the football argument that refuses to die.
Admittedly anyone who has ever read my writing will know that I've said before that I don't care about this discussion and I equally dislike the one between Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, and then usually find myself discussing why it's not Ronaldo.
The three men involved are some of the best players to have ever graced the pitch during the Premier League era and in an unfortunate twist for England they played at the same time but struggled to play together for the national team.

Each man has their fans and their detractors and no one seems able to agree on who the best man is.
So there's only one way to sort this out and that's to let FIFA games over the years tell us which of the three had the highest rating each year. It doesn't make good reading for Scholes who didn't top the charts once from 2006.
FIFA 2006: Steven Gerrard - 91
FIFA 2007: Frank Lampard - 89
FIFA 2008: Steven Gerrard - 88
FIFA 2009: Steven Gerrard - 88
FIFA 2010: Steven Gerrard - 88
FIFA 2011: Frank Lampard - 87
FIFA 2012: Steven Gerrard - 86
FIFA 2013: Steven Gerrard- 83
FIFA 2014: Steven Gerrard - 83
FIFA 2015: Steven Gerrard - 81
FIFA 2016: Steven Gerrard - 81
It might be worth noting that Scholes stopped playing in 2013 so the last four editions of the game might have been a little bit off, especially with the Manchester United ginger fella only appearing as an icon since.

There will never be a universal answer to who the best player out of the three was but at least the Liverpool midfielder will always know he was the one everyone wanted to play with on FIFA.
