In perhaps the biggest example of 'the games gone' Everton's partnership with popular game Angry Birds has seen three of their players, Theo Walcott, Gylfi Sigurdsson and Cenk Tosun, become characters in the game.

There's a trend where you claim that everything in modern football is what is wrong with modern football. Whether that's players dabbing, Instagram, fans picking the team they support based on who they play on FIFA or certain tackles now being red cards, it all leads to claims of 'the games gone.'

All of those examples are just of times changing and not really of the game being 'gone,' after all your da was probably happy to see Peter Crouch pull out the robot so leave the dabbers and Milly Rockers alone.

This week saw the release of the Manchester City 'watch' that for £80 will send updates on the club directly to your wrist, updates that you can get anywhere for absolutely nothing. Now that's modern football gone mad but Everton have topped it.

The Toffees sleeve sponsor, game's gone, is popular phone game Angry Birds and now three of the players have been turned into Angry Birds because obviously that was bound to happen.

Theo Walcott, Gylfi Sigurdsson and Cenk Tosun are now downloadable and make of their appearance what you will:

The trio of Walcott, Gylfi Sigheron and Cenk Toocan (I'm sorry for the fowl word play) will be available to play with from today up until Monday.

Rovio Entertainment say the characters are 'limited edition extra-rare five-star birds,' which strangely is how I refer to all of my matches on Tinder, especially the extra rare bit...

Walcott's character will apparently reflect his speed and attacking intent on the football pitch and, as you already obviously know, yellow birds are the quickest on the game.

Tosun's character will be a bit of a finisher with killer instincts and Sigurdsson will draw on his physical strength.

Sorry to chirp on about this but the game has well and truly gone...
