Liverpool's transfer dealings this summer have taken Jurgen Klopp's side to the top of the list of pretenders to Manchester City's Premier League crown but will Football Manager agree with that?
Last season Liverpool showed their potential class by reaching the final of the Champions League, with the impressive scalp of Manchester City on the way, but they didn't quite prove it in the Premier League.
In the domestic competitions they could only finish fourth in the league, after taking their foot off the gas in the build up to the final against Real Madrid, and had early losses in both the FA and EFL cups.
This summer though they've quickly become everyone's favourites to challenge Manchester City with an array of signings that have no doubt improved them in a way the rest of their rivals haven't been able to do.

The biggest signing is probably goalkeeper Alisson, taking over from Loris Karius, whilst Naby Keita and Fabinho add real class to their midfield options. So what does the season have in store for Liverpool? Well talkSPORT asked Football Manager to work it out for them.
We'll get straight to it and it's not great for the Reds in the league:
It looks like Liverpool will be finishing outside the top four, and thus the Champions League places, by one point to Arsenal and new manager with Unai Emery, with Chelsea pipping City to the title.

Things didn't get much better in the Champions League either with Pep Guardiola's team getting revenge for last season's elimination by winning the quarter final 5-3 on aggregate. Loris Karius even played in the second leg thanks to injuries to Alisson and Simon Mignolet.
Speaking of goalkeepers it is interesting to note that, despite breaking the world record transfer fee for a goalkeeper, Klopp ends up playing Alisson and Mignolet in an equal number of games.
Also Roberto Firmino ends up with as many goals as Mo Salah who doesn't quite reach the heights of his first season:
At least it gets a bit better for the Anfield side when it comes to the FA Cup. In fact Klopp leads his side to success over rivals City in the final with Mo Salah's extra time penalty giving them the win.
Considering all their signings, as well as adding Hirving Lozano half way through the season, it's not exactly a good season for the Reds as they regress from the last few seasons and end up out of the Champions League for the following this season.

If it ends up like this it'll definitely be a Jurgen flop!
